This kayaking experience takes you off the beaten path and deep into the Withlacoochee Forest. Paddle through the freshwater tributaries of the Withlacoochee River surrounded by aquatic plants and towering bald knee cypress trees. This wetland ecosystem is host to the native white swamp spider lily and orange butterfly weed. Be on the lookout for a variety of birds: Limpkins, Kingfishers, Anhinga, and Hawks. Spot turtles enjoying the sunrays. Listen closely and you may hear, and get a glimpse of, some white tailed deer, racoons, and wild hogs.

Start on the tannin rich waters of the Withlacoochee River then explore a network of crystal clear springfed creeks, surrounded by a dense forest of cedar and cypress trees. Spot Great Blue Herons and other native birds foraging in the shallows. This ecosystem hosts a variety of dense foliage and aquatic plants from start to finish. Purple pickerelweed, yellow waterlily, and scarlet hibiscus. Be on the lookout for the many species of turtles that enjoy stacking up on logs and rock along the shore.
