About the event

This unique cypress swamp offers a one-of-a-kind paddling experience! As we move upstream, the river narrows, winding through a lush hammock filled with towering cypress, live oaks, black gum, willow, palms, and pine. The banks are lined with vibrant aquatic plants, creating the feeling of drifting through a jungle or rainforest. Waccasassa River is an isolated undeveloped spring fed river in Levy County, flowing through the Gulf Hammock wetlands and emptying into the Gulf
